Here in Central Victoria we are blessed by the arrival each autumn of blue faced honeyeaters. They come for the nectar in our protea repens ruby and make a distinct call to others of their family to come and share the nectar. We see them through our front doorway and through the curtains and we just love having their company.
Not only do they get the nectar, but I put out honey for them and sometimes I see six taking honey while one member of their family stands guard.
